Japanese verb conjugation practice

Japanese verbs change their endings to change meaning: 書く → 書いて, 書かない, 書いた. Learn each rule with a table, then practise.

Three verb groups

  1. Group 1 (u-verbs)

    書く書いて

    Most verbs: 書く, 飲む, 帰る.

  2. Group 2 (ru-verbs)

    食べる食べて

    -iru / -eru verbs. Drop る: 食べる, 見る.

  3. Group 3 (irregular)

    するして

    Only する and 来る.
